OnePlus is preparing to turn a new page in its camera journey. OnePlus China President Li Jie officially announced in a social media post that the upcoming OnePlus 15 will feature Oppo Group’s most advanced imaging system, Oppo LUMO technology. This move positions the OnePlus 15 as the brand’s most advanced photography-focused phone to date. Here are the details.
Oppo’s Pinnacle Technology: LUMO Is Coming!
According to Li Jie, the Oppo LUMO imaging system represents the highest-level imaging technology within the Oppo Group. Thanks to this system, the OnePlus 15 will deliver the best photographic performance in the brand’s history. The camera’s focus is on improving key elements such as depth, light, and color realism.
While the collaboration with Hasselblad has ended, key camera modes such as color philosophy, aesthetic tone, and Master Mode and wide aspect ratio remain, ensuring the distinctive OnePlus visual experience continues.
The OnePlus 15 will feature a powerful camera system consisting of three 50MP sensors:
- Main Camera: 50MP Sony LYT-700 primary camera with OIS support.
- Telephoto: 3.5x periscope telephoto lens with an 85mm golden portrait focal length equivalent. This lens reportedly uses a 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor.
- Ultra-Wide: 50MP OmniVision OV50D ultra-wide-angle camera.
The phone supports advanced image processing features such as Pro XDR, full-focal-length high-definition output, 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording, and ultra-clear live photos. The OnePlus 15’s other specifications are also befitting a flagship.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, it utilizes a redesigned Glacier cooling system with dual capillary layers to improve heat dissipation. It features a 6.78-inch BOE X3 display with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz adaptive refresh rate. The device is powered by a massive 7,300mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The top-of-the-line version comes with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
The phone is expected to launch globally in November. According to recent reports, the 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage version is expected to cost around £949 (approximately $1,260).
